A meeting was held between representatives of UNWE and the company ESRI

    On May 11, 2023, a meeting took place between representatives of UNWE, specifically the EUROCC2 project, and Esri.

    Representing Esri were Ms. Miglena Kuzmanova and Mr. Georgi Vladov, while UNWE was represented by Prof. Dr. Kamelia Stefanova, Prof. Valentin Kisimov, Prof. Dr. Kiril Stoychev, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nikolay Tsankov, and Senior Assistant Dr. Yuri Tsankov.

    Esri Bulgaria has a unique team of highly qualified professionals with proven experience and expertise in the field of information systems, particularly in the area of Geospatial technologies. They are dedicated to finding the most suitable solutions for each client and have contributed significantly to the successful GIS projects in the country.

    Each member of the Esri Bulgaria team possesses education and knowledge that meets global standards. This is a result of the company’s continuous investment in its employees, providing them with opportunities to master new technologies and products, ensuring they stay at the forefront of the GIS wave.

    During the meeting, possibilities for collaboration in the field of research, education, and service provision to interested users were discussed, utilizing the established infrastructure and achieved competence.

    An agreement (memorandum) for effective cooperation will be signed, forming the basis for further partnership development.

    It became clear during the meeting that Esri can provide licenses and platforms to enhance the services and capacity of the existing infrastructure at UNWE.

    The participants agreed to pursue collaboration in two main directions:

    1. Exploring financial and other opportunities to enhance the technical capacity of the established infrastructure and taking the necessary technological measures to integrate some of Esri’s solutions with the big data analytics and high-performance computing system.
    2. UNWE and Esri jointly undertaking actions for future collaborative projects and services that can be provided to users such as government administration, businesses, and academic institutions.
