On 29 April, a workshop was held under project No.951732-EUROCC-H2020-JTI-EuroHPC-2019-2 “EuroCC: National Competence Centres in the framework of EuroHPC”. The project aims to increase the competitiveness of Bulgarian business by establishing a HPC/HPDA/AI National Competence Centre. In the implementation of the project, the UNWE is partnering with the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski. The project coordinator for the UNWE is Prof. Dr. Kamelia Stefanova.
In the workshop, held with the managing partner of the start-up Atop Ltd. Emil Tsvetanov and Spasimir Tsvetanov – Communications Manager at Google and Facebook, Prof. Dr. Tsvetana Stoyanova, Prof. Dr. Valentin Kisimov and Prof. Dr. Galina Mladenova explained the objectives of the National Competence Center and the opportunities for the application of HPC/HPDA/AI technologies in process management in companies of different rank and in different areas of activity. Mr. Emil Tsvetanov presented Atop Ltd, which is among the fastest-growing Bulgarian companies in the field of online trade. Specific opportunities for using the consulting services and infrastructure offered by the National Competence Centre were discussed.
