  • SME 13MARY (https://www.linkedin.com/company/13mari) – Further consultations on models for streamlining of ship bottoms in a fluid environment (July 2024). The goal is to simulate turbulences that increase friction and lead to an increase in fuel consumption in container ships. The advantages and limitations of using different software packages were evaluated, including OpenFoam, Alya & Ansys fluent.
  • LOFAR distributed research infrastructure enabling world-leading radio astronomical research, designed and built by ASTRON in the Netherlands – consultations were held with the leading specialists in the Bulgarian part of the LOFAR project by the Institute of Astronomy of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (30 Aug 2024). The possibilities for using the space for data storage and the HPC capabilities of the UNWE, created within the framework of the Big Data Competence Center, were discussed, aimed at creating a prototype of a distributed data center for aggregation, processing and archiving of space weather observations LOFAR, and for adapting and scaling AI/ML techniques for transporting and extracting real-time data from LOFAR space weather observations.
  • Data Solutions Ltd. (https://www.ds-bg.com/en/about-us/) – consultations on the use of Catwing.ai – AI driven inventory optimization (3 Sep 2024). Data Issues: AI relies on large amounts of high-quality data. Consistent or inaccessible data can help AI performance, leading to accurate forecasts and inefficiencies in inventory management. HighImplementation Costs: Integrating AI systems into existing inventory processes, including software and hardware upgrades, can be substantial. Integration Issues: AI systems must be compatible with a company’s current infrastructure, which can be complex, especially for businesses with legacy systems. Lack of Expertise: Implementing AI requires specialized knowledge in AI technologies and inventory management, which many organizations need to gain.
  • Stelion Ltd. (Pricemind.ai) – consultations on the use of Pricemind.ai – Use of HPC scraping and analyses of price information from different websites (9 Sep 2024). High-Performance Computing (HPC) can significantly enhance web scraping and the analysis of price information from multiple websites. HPC enables simultaneous scraping from different websites, improving the speed and efficiency of data collection. Parallel Scraping: HPC allows for the execution of web scraping across multiple websites in parallel, reducing the overall time needed to gather pricing data. Data Analysis at Scale: With the large amount of data collected from various sources, HPC can process and analyze the information quickly. This helps in identifying trends, price fluctuations, and opportunities for arbitrage across websites. Dealing with Scraping Challenges: HPC can also help overcome typical scraping challenges such as handling CAPTCHA, rate-limiting, and website-specific HTML structures through optimized algorithms and by distributing tasks across several nodes.
  • BULASTA (https://www.bulatsa.com/) – Further consultations on optimising the used SW package for high-resolution atmospheric analyses and forecasts (12 Sep 2024). Problems related to numerical weather forecast (NWP) were discussed.
  • Redina Ltd. (redina.io) – consultations on Mobile future of e-commerce (17 Sep 2024). Personalized Shopping Experiences: AI, supported by HPC, processes vast amounts of data from user interactions, enabling mobile platforms to offer highly personalized product recommendations in real-time. This enhances customer engagement and conversion rates. Real-Time Analytics: HPC systems can process complex data at lightning speeds, providing real-time insights into customer behaviors, preferences, and purchasing patterns. This is crucial for mobile e-commerce, where decisions need to be made quickly to optimize user experiences. AI-Powered Chatbots and Virtual Assistants: In mobile commerce, AI-driven chatbots, powered by HPC, deliver instant customer service, product searches, and transaction support, improving user satisfaction and boosting sales.
