November 28, 2024 | As part of the EuroCC2 project, UNWE had the honor of hosting a delegation of esteemed academics, including Prof. Dr. Zidane Lamgadhri, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Boutalline, and Prof. Dr. Imane El Amri from Morocco, alongside Prof. Dr. Ahmed Khalifa Aly Mehanna and Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Hassan Shaaban Mansour from Egypt. The visit to Sofia was organized by Assistant Dr. Ivona Velkova from UNWE, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Kamelia Stefanova, and featured a session dedicated to exploring the capabilities of the DISCOVERER Petascale Supercomputer.
During the session, led by Vladislav Rusanov, DevOps Engineer at Discoverer, the delegation gained insights into the supercomputer’s cutting-edge features and its significant role in advancing high-performance computing (HPC), artificial intelligence (AI), and high-performance data analytics (HPDA). Key topics included the supercomputer’s technical infrastructure, its robust security protocols, and its impact on addressing complex global challenges through innovation and data-driven solutions.
The event highlighted EuroCC2’s mission to foster international collaboration, connecting academic expertise across borders to support digital transformation and scientific progress. The discussions emphasized how HPC and HPDA can empower academic research and industrial applications, strengthening global partnerships for innovation.
